Beverley Hutton Moore

Beverley Hutton Moore Jweweller Silversmith Tutor

Born 1972 in Harrogate.

Beverley graduated from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen in 1995 in Craft and design. She worked with Malcolm Appleby both whilst at university and for 3 years thereafter in the Aberfeldy area then relocated back to Aberdeenshire in 2000 to concentrate on running her own studio workshop.

She is inspired by her rural surroundings whilst out walking, birds in the garden and weather.

She is also motivated by traditional techniques such as hand raising cups, forging for spoon making, hand engraving, chasing and repousse and the technique of fabricating the ribbon torc. She continues to learn and improve her skills.

Beverley enjoys 'playing' with precious metals and experimenting with them and was awarded the Visual Arts and Crafts Makers Award for Aberdeenshire in 2017:

'Producing a body of work which captures the essence of the fragility of nature, shown in its growth and decay, innovatively reproducing these delicate elements, using precious metals'.

She currently teaches silversmithing classes from her studio:

'The Canny Workshop'

established in 2015, but initially taught short courses in advanced silversmithing and beginners at Grays School of Art and simultaneously jewellery classes for Aberdeen City council
